Canned Goods Needed: Feeding South Dakota
May 10, 2017
At Security National Bank, we don’t just invest in mutual funds and Roth IRAs, we also invest in our people, our neighborhoods, and in our communities. In 2017, we’re celebrating 10 years in Sioux Falls, and we’re marking the occasion by supporting 10 local charities in 10 months. Our anniversary initiative hits close to home, and it’s meant to; as a local bank, it’s our privilege to help our communities thrive. We are committing to helping make the world a better place, starting right here in South Dakota.
This month, both Security National Bank of South Dakota locations in Sioux Falls will be holding a food drive benefitting Feeding South Dakota, a local organization that works every day to eliminate hunger statewide. With locations in Pierre, Rapid City, and Sioux Falls, Feeding South Dakota distributes over 10 million meals to children, families, and seniors all over the state each year. That’s over 13.5 million pounds of food in 2016 alone.
From May 10th through June 10th, 2017, you can help those in need by filling up the barrels at both of our Sioux Falls locations. Feeding South Dakota can always use the following high-demand, non-perishable foods:
- Peanut Butter and Jelly
- Cereal
- Pasta and Rice
- Canned fruits and vegetables
- Canned meats and canned pasta
In addition to food items, they could also use personal care items like toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, and deodorant. Please visit their website for more information and even more ways to help.
We are committing to helping make the world a better place, starting right here in South Dakota. Will you join us?
