Power, Grace and Now Space: Gymnastics Studio Realizes Dream With New Facility
September 24, 2018
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The moment Dennis and Kathy Champoux had to start turning families away from their full gymnastics studio, they realized it was time to upgrade — and vault their business to new heights.
“We decided we needed to grow with the community,” Dennis says.
He and his wife Kathy launched Power and Grace Gymnastics in 1999, in the old Menard’s Building on 41st street. They quickly outgrew the facility and moved to an old auto-glass manufacturer, but three years ago, it became evident they’d outgrown that space, too.
And for a studio whose mission is to give children a chance to grow, learn and be the best they can be — having to turn kids away was heartbreaking. So Dennis and Kathy turned their focus toward building a brand new facility suited more for gymnastics (and less for hardware or windshields).
They found the perfect place for their new building, located at the Sanford Sports Complex northwest of town.
They just needed the right financial partner to help them stick the landing.
“Security National Bank was referred to us by the construction company we worked with,” Dennis says. “Once we met with [President] Gary Dybsetter, Kathy and I knew this was the perfect bank to team up with. He could see our passion, and we could see he was aligned with our vision and committed to helping us achieve our dream.”
This summer, that dream became a reality.
Dennis and Kathy opened the doors in July to a sparkling 16,000-square foot facility, complete with a climbing wall, two foam pits, a pair of in-ground trampolines and a viewing area for parents to watch their kids.
“The new space is everything we’ve wanted. We’ve even been able to add classes,” Dennis says.
“We’re especially thankful to Gary and [SNB’s] Matt Brockmeier, who helped us fulfill our vision and who we know will be there to support us in the future. ... Thanks to great relationships and key business resources like SNB, our vision to grow and progress to be one of Sioux Falls’ best gymnastics facilities is a reality.”
Power and Grace gymnastics offers services for all ages and abilities, including a focus on those that may have disabilities. Registration for Fall Classes is now open, and you can find more information at www.PowerandGrace.com.
